This pair of antique Victorian miniature solid brass candlesticks features a classic turned baluster stem and a square base with clipped corners. Dating from the 19th century, the construction shows authentic period details, including a distinctive rough-cast hollow underside and an integrated central thread assembly typical of Victorian metalware manufacturing. These functional small-scale holders were used to provide targeted extra lighting around the home, often placed on writing desks, piano ledges, or carried as portable pocket lights. They are made from heavy cast brass and exhibit a lovely weight and presence for their small size.
The candlesticks are in very good antique condition, showing minor historical wear, surface markings, and oxidation in the crevices consistent with their great age, all of which enhances their genuine period character.
