This pair of heavy Victorian brass candlesticks dates to the late 19th century, circa 1880, and features the traditional upturned beehive design. Cast with a hollow core, the stems display classic concentric ribbed detailing inverted on the upper section, positioned above an elongated baluster.
Each candlestick rests on a solid, multi-stepped octagonal base with canted corners. They are in very good antique condition and retain their original character, a warm golden colour, and a heavy weight. The internal iron rod push-up ejector mechanisms are still present on the undersides, though they have seized over time.
