Hi, I'm Jodie Flavell, a self-taught artist, born in South Yorkshire, England. My journey began in 2019 when I started upcycling my late Grandad's home after moving in there. Frustrated with the cheaply made, expensive furniture on the market, I set-out to buy well-made vintage furniture, which I could create my own designs on.
It didn't take me long to realise I have a real love for painting! A few months later I setup my own furniture painting business, which has since ventured into the world of home décor & canvas art and have never looked back since!
I then also transitioned into antiques and vintage, where you can find lots of interesting decor items and curiosities. My ethos is all about sustainability and reusing what we already have in the world. Besides, antique and vintage items were generally so much better made, as well as more interesting then the decor items of today.
My furniture painting portfolio covers a large range of styles & techniques, as I love to experiment, however my absolute love is making things appear older then they actually are! Offering vibrant art that also provides function in the home. I love to create art that offers a lot of texture & detail; which makes you want to study every little aspect of the piece; an artwork that encourages you to touch as well as look.
All of the furniture I source is preloved.. I firmly believe in creating a sustainable future, where I can give unwanted furniture a new lease-of-life by painting sought-after, bespoke finishes.
