A lovely antique edition of Charles Dickens' holiday classic, published in the mid-1930s by Odhams Press, London. This collectible volume features a foreword by the renowned actor Sir John Martin-Harvey and is charmingly illustrated throughout with line drawings by the celebrated artist Gilbert Wilkinson. The cover is finished in a decorative blue cloth with bright gilt detailing and a portrait medallion of Dickens.
Condition:
The book is in very good antique condition. The blue cloth remains vibrant with minor shelf wear, and the gilt decoration is well-preserved. Inside, the pages show light natural tanning and occasional spotting (foxing) consistent with its age, but the text and illustrations remain crisp and fully legible. The binding is secure.
This volume would suit a Dickens enthusiast, a collector of vintage Christmas literature, or a traditional festive mantel display.
