An antique British brass tray dating to the early 20th century, with the design officially registered in late 1929. This whimsical piece features a stamped folklore design of a lantern-bearing pixie alongside the charming embossed verse, "I guide ye well through moor and dell."
Crafted from lightweight, polished brass, the tray has a wonderful aged patina that beautifully catches the light. The reverse is stamped with the official British registration number, 749387, which firmly places its manufacture in the interwar period. It measures 12cm in height by 9cm in diameter, and weighs 140g, making it a very tactile and compact item that was originally used in the home as a pin, trinket, or card tray. The condition of the piece is very good, showing natural character and historic wear consistent with its age.
This delightful piece of traditional English metalware would suit a rustic cottage aesthetic, a collector of vintage brass, or anyone fond of whimsical folklore decor.
