This pair of 19th-century French Rococo cast brass candlesticks features sweeping tri-footed bases with scrolled feet, moving up into central columns detailed with deep acanthus leaf reliefs, classical swags, and scalloped wax drip pans. Crafted in multi-piece sectional brass with central internal threaded rods, they have substantial heft and a strong decorative presence on a mantle or dining table.
Condition Very good condition with a characterful patina. The natural tarnish settled in the recessed areas gives great depth to the casting. One stem has a slight bit of looseness, but it secures with gentle tightening and the candlestick stands completely secure.
