An authentic Art Deco locket pendant, dated by its original hand-engraved inscription on the reverse reading "H. H 24.12.33".
Crafted in rolled gold with an octagonal Art Deco silhouette, the front face features subtle corner scrollwork and is star-set with a central ~2mm natural red ruby (~0.03-0.04 ct), which has been tested and confirmed as ruby using a Presidium Gem Tester. The locket opens on a smooth side hinge to reveal two original 1930s black-and-white portraits of a couple as a sentimental lovers token. Both inner gold photo retaining frames are present, along with one original glass cover.
Good vintage condition for its age. The rolled gold outer casing retains a warm luster with natural surface wear consistent with age. The side hinge operates smoothly and the locket snaps closed securely.
