This authentic antique Arts & Crafts trinket dish is an excellent example of the historic design movement that emerged in the 1860s as a rebellion against industrial mass production, championing traditional craftsmanship and honest materials.

The small vessel has been entirely hand-formed, featuring a beautifully textured surface with visible multi-directional planishing (hammer) marks across the base. Rather than standard repoussé work, the bowl features distinct applied decoration, with individual circular copper bosses meticulously cut and soldered onto the exterior walls. It sits elegantly on three solid brass ball feet, which are also individually attached. The underside retains a rich, complex heat patina and minor natural oxidation, demonstrating the traditional forge and soldering techniques used by the craftsman. It is an unsigned studio or guild piece with a wonderful weight, historic character, and a warm, reflective glow.
