An antique solid brass chamberstick featuring a late 19th-century Victorian design with a heavily fluted column and a wide, deep drip pan base. The underside of the base is sand-cast, showing a distinctive irregular texture unique to traditional foundry methods, and is stamped with an impressed sphinx trademark used by Joseph Sankey & Sons. The central stem retains its original integrated brass bracket where a carrying ring handle would have historic attachment.

The condition of the piece is very good. There are signs of cosmetic wear as is to be expected of a piece this age. Its handle is no longer there, but it still works great as a standalone candle holder. A beautiful patina has formed, giving the candle holder lots of character. Constructed from solid brass, it has a great weight to it, remains completely sturdy, and accommodates a standard dinner candle beautifully.
