This authentic Edwardian cast brass trivet features a striking openwork Lion Rampant central design. Raised on three elegant cabriole legs terminating in detailed paw feet, this solid brass stand was originally designed to hold hot kettles or teapots by the fireside.

The piece has a wonderful, natural aged patina with genuine character marks and historic metal polish residue in the recessed details. The top plate is securely attached to the legs underneath via traditional flat-head screws, typical of early 20th-century construction.

While still perfectly functional for hot dishes or teapots, its 9cm height makes it exceptionally well-suited for use as a unique indoor plant stand, raising a favourite potted plant to add vintage charm to a shelf, windowsill, or side table.

Condition: Very good antique condition with cosmetic wear as is expected of a piece this age. It also has characterful patina.
