An authentic late 19th-century antique brass Mizpah brooch pin, crafted in the Victorian tradition circa 1850. Designed in a romantic double-heart motif joined by an ivy leaf, the lower heart features the word "MIZPAH" alongside an engraved Scottish thistle and foliate scrollwork.

The upper heart is inscribed with the famous Biblical benediction: "THE LORD WATCH BETWEEN ME & THEE WHEN WE ARE ABSENT ONE FROM ANOTHER." Mizpah jewellery was traditionally exchanged as a sentimental token of protection and affection between lovers, friends, or family parted by distance.

The reverse features a textured backplate fitted with a hand-fitted tube hinge, an extended pin stem, and a simple C-clasp typical of late 19th-century construction. A poignant historical keepsake of Victorian sentimental jewellery and Scottish heritage.

Good antique condition for its age. The brass displays a rich, warm natural patina with light handling marks. The raised letters and engraved thistle remain crisp and clear, and the reverse pin stem fastens securely.
