An authentic mid-19th century Victorian antique starburst rosette pendant, dating to circa 1850. The piece features a multi-tiered floral bloom set with thin, faceted black glass marquise-cut petals surrounding a square-cut central stone, suspended from an antique brass-toned bail.

Demonstrating classic mid-19th-century Vauxhall glass craftsmanship, each paper-thin glass petal sits over a silver/foil mirrored backing plate—a historic light-reflecting technique designed to bounce light back out through the glass facets. This silver-backed foil construction explicitly distinguishes authentic Vauxhall glass from solid, thick-cut French Jet.

Please note condition: The pendant is in overall good antique condition for its age and delicate glass build. All black glass stones remain intact and securely set. In line with its age and delicate construction, there is general wear across the glass facets, including light edge chips. The top brass bail is intact and ready for a chain.
