A magnificent antique Mother of Pearl (nacre) openwork hand carved brooch pin, dating to circa 1890–1920. Handcrafted from a single large piece of natural white shell, the brooch features intricate pierced reticulated carving depicting flowing acanthus leaves and a central fluted palm frond motif.

The natural mother-of-pearl displays a luminous, iridescent rainbow sheen across every carved facet. The reverse is fitted with a silver-toned bar pin and safety catch. A striking statement piece for lovers of antique shell work and Edwardian elegance.

Very good antique condition. The Mother of Pearl carving is remarkably intact with no chips, cracks, or missing filigree sections. The pearl retains a bright, radiant luster, and the pin mechanism functions smoothly and closes securely.
