This antique Scottish thistle brooch features cold enamel glazing in purple, green, and red over a gold-gilt base metal. Measuring 4.2 x 2.4 cm, the piece displays a Scottish thistle blossom alongside a tartan-patterned bow ribbon.
Circa 1910s. The reverse features a textured back stamped with the period maker mark "GILT" (indicating a gold-electroplated finish over base metal) and is fitted with an early C-clasp hinge and long pin stem.
The condition is good, showing light surface wear to the enamel glaze and minor antique tarnish to the reverse metal consistent with age.
This piece would suit lovers of antique Scottish souvenir jewellery, early 20th century enamel brooches, or traditional tartan accessories.
