This authentic early 18th-century Georgian brass candlestick features a classic turned baluster stem with a distinctive inverted bell-shaped knop, rising from a raised square pedestal base with canted corners. Dating to the George I / George II period (circa 1720–1750), the design reflects the transition from late Queen Anne forms into early Georgian baluster styles.
The piece showcases traditional 18th-century craftsmanship, having been sand cast in brass. The underside of the base retains its original coarse, pitted sand-casting texture, while the exterior displays subtle hand-filing, hand-hammered facets along the canted base corners, and hand-tooled seam joins that give it wonderful period character.
Condition Very good condition with a rich, authentic aged patina. The brass carries natural surface darkening and light tarnish in the crevices, highlighting its nearly 300-year history.
