This vintage mid-century utility bowl was manufactured by the Coppercraft Guild of Taunton, Massachusetts, USA. Operating primarily from the late 1940s through the 1970s, the company became a household staple by selling high-quality decorative and functional copperware directly to consumers via a home-party marketing structure.
This piece was produced using a mid-century technique known as metal spinning, where a sheet of copper is rotated at high speed on a lathe and formed over a mold to give the vessel its perfectly uniform, smooth finish. It features a rolled rim and a heavy, swinging solid brass drop-ring handle secured by a riveted brass bracket, allowing it to be hung flat against a wall as a decorative accent when not in use. The base is stamped with the official interlocking "CG" logo and marked "Made in USA". It retains a fantastic, clean look with a warm, reflective glow.
