A mid-century heart-shaped vanity compact featuring an engine-turned gold-tone brass casing with an intricate floral scroll motif and a central shield cartouche engraved with the initials J.A. in script lettering. The hinged lid opens to reveal an interior mirror alongside a loose powder compartment protected by an inner hinged door with a sliding catch.
Dating from circa 1950, this collectable "Chérie" model was produced in England by Kigu and bears their signature crowned triangle trademark on the inner door alongside stamped patent marks.
Dimensions when closed: 8.5 x 7.5cm
Condition: Very good condition overall with smooth hinges, a firm clasp, and clean internal brasswork. The interior mirror shows age-appropriate foxing and desilvering speckles to the glass backing, with minor surface wear to the outer brass casing.
This charming piece would suit vintage vanity collectors, retro dressing table displays, or romantic period prop styling.
