A mid-century Czech marionette depicting Kašpárek, the traditional jester or court fool character. Crafted with a hand-painted papier-mâché head, black painted hair under a red hood, and white tights with red-tipped shoes, featuring elasticated joints at the limbs for movement. He wears a vibrant red felt outfit with a pointed white felt collar, suspended from his central metal wire rod and original control strings.

Kašpárek is one of the most famous and beloved comic figures in traditional Czech marionette theatre, renowned for his quick wit and cheerful trickery in folk plays. Produced in Eastern Europe during the mid-20th century, this piece functions both as a performance puppet and as a charming piece of eclectic decor.

Measures approximately 12 x 7 cm, with a total height of 38 cm including the metal rod.

Care will be taken when packaging for postage, though some minor untangling of the strings may be needed when unpacked.

The condition is good with light age-related wear to the paintwork and fabric.

This piece would suit theatrical prop collectors, vintage toy enthusiasts, fairytale decor lovers, or bohemian interior displays.
