This pair of circa mid-century Middle Eastern kohl bottles (surmadani) features spherical glass bodies in vibrant ruby red and emerald green, set within turned brass mounts with flared pedestal bases. Each bottle is decorated with applied brass flower medallions on the glass sides and comes complete with its original screw-in brass applicator wand.
Traditionally used for storing and applying fine eye kohl powder, these vanity vessels work wonderfully as decorative perfume dabbers, vanity tray accents, or bohemian decor pieces. The brass displays a characterful aged surface patina with subtle tarnish and light wear to the glass consistent with age.
