Designed in the elaborate French Louis XV style popular throughout the mid-to-late 19th century, these substantial pieces showcase ornate scalloped shell fluting, sweeping acanthus leaves, and dynamic scrollwork.
Standing at nearly 40 cm tall and weighing 4 kg together, these feature lead-weighted bases originally designed to provide extra stability for large mantel or sideboard displays. A fine example of late Victorian foundry craftsmanship, offering exceptional visual presence and classic period elegance.
Condition: The condition is very good, with a warm natural brass luster and subtle aged character in the deep relief casting. The top rims feature the original rough, hardened texture typical of 19th-century sand casting and foundry manufacturing.
