An authentic Georgian to early Victorian antique starburst rosette brooch pin, dating to circa 1820–1840. The brooch is crafted in a 3D layered flowerburst silhouette set with delicate, faceted black glass marquise-cut stones.

Demonstrating authentic early 19th-century Vauxhall glass craftsmanship, each thin glass petal is backed by an individual silvered mirrored foil plate positioned directly beneath the glass atop an openwork brass framework—a historic technique designed to bounce candlelight through the thin glass facets and create a striking metallic luster.

Pre-dating mid-Victorian formal court mourning, silver-backed Vauxhall glass was worn during the late Georgian and Regency eras as dramatic evening accessories and early mourning keepsakes. The reverse exhibits an openwork brass backing plate fitted with an early tube hinge, long pin stem, and simple C-clasp.

Good antique condition for its age. All black glass stones remain intact and securely mounted, with minor age-appropriate surface wear and an odd small edge chip consistent with 200-year-old glass. The rear brass backing plate displays a natural aged patina, and the pin mechanism operates smoothly.
