An authentic boxed pair of vintage Stratton portrait cufflinks from the late 1960s. The cufflinks feature domed oval cabochons depicting John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough (1650–1722) after the famous original oil portrait by Sir Godfrey Kneller.
Each cabochon is oil painted and hand-finished in oils under a clear protective dome, framed by a gold-toned rope-twist bezel. The reverse stems feature Stratton's patented toggle backs stamped with PAT. 1.144.883.
Housed in their original gold-embossed "presented by Stratton" presentation box with the matching factory reference sticker intact on the outer shell, accompanied by the original paper insert detailing the history of the Duke of Marlborough, Sir Winston Churchill, and Blenheim Palace.
Very good vintage condition. The oil painted portrait cabochons are clean, colorful, and intact. The gold-toned rope bezels and patented toggle backs function smoothly and hold securely, while the presentation box and insert remain well preserved.
