This scarce, British-made vintage toy is a fantastic slice of 1960s television merchandising. Manufactured by Bell Toys under license from Revue Productions, this battery-operated Wagon Train TV Projector and Films set dates back to 1960, capitalizing on the massive success of the hit American Western TV series that gripped audiences across the UK and US.
Originally powered by a 4.5V battery, these plastic toy projectors allowed children to view mini film strips of their favourite western adventures right on their bedroom walls. Because they were fragile childhood toys, very few survived intact, making this boxed example a rare find for collectors of pre-cinema toys, vintage optics, or classic Western memorabilia.
The set includes its striking original pictorial box, which features wonderful mid-century graphics of the iconic covered wagons.
