Pair of mid-century vintage solid cast brass candlesticks manufactured by Bates Brass of Birmingham, England. Featuring an elegant oval base, a tapered baluster column, and decorative fluted knop details. Central threaded rod construction with "ENGLAND" stamped on the internal rod base, retaining the original maker's foil label on the underside.
They have a satisfying 1.1 kg weight in the hand and give off a beautiful, high-pitched ring when struck—a clear mark of high-density, high-quality solid brass casting.
Condition
In very good vintage condition. The brass retains a bright polished finish with light, natural surface patina and age-related wear to the clear lacquer in the recessed fluting, highlighting its authentic vintage character.
