A vintage rectangular gingerbread tin produced for German confectionery maker Weissella (Max Weiss GmbH & Co.). The cream-toned embossed metal body is decorated with festive holly and berry borders framing arched illustrations of historic Nuremberg landmarks, including Frauenthor, Schöner Brunnen, Burg vom Hallertor, and Tugendbrunnen u. Nassauerhaus.
This tin dates to circa 1995, as corroborated by the original best-before stamp (March 1996) on the base label and a handwritten provenance note tucked inside stating it was brought from Germany at Christmas 1995. Originally containing traditional Weissella-Elisen oblaten-lebkuchen, this tin was produced in Neu-Ulm / Nuremberg, Germany.
