This set of three miniature tripod cauldrons is a charming example of mid-century "hearth-ware" collectibles. These pieces were originally popular as decorative accents for the home, designed to replicate the functional cast-iron cauldrons used for open-fire cooking in the 18th and 19th centuries.
The set features a mix of brass and copper tones, including two larger polished brass cauldrons and one smaller two-tone piece. Each item is designed with a bulbous body, three spiked tripod feet, and a swinging bail handle. The largest cauldron measures 6cm x 5.5cm, and the smallest is 3cm x 3cm, with a combined weight of 150g.
The cauldrons are in very good condition. They maintain a bright, polished exterior while showing a light, authentic patina on the interior that reflects their vintage mid-century origin. Today, these versatile pieces could also potentially be used as mini planters for small succulents or air plants.
This set would suit collectors of mid-century miniatures or those looking for traditional rustic accents for a printer’s tray or shelf display.
