Dating to circa 1970, this mid-century Mexican brooch is crafted in the shape of a butterfly, featuring hand-set abalone shell panels forming the wings and body. Delicate silver-tone wire antennae complete the insect silhouette, while the iridescent shell shifts between vivid emerald, peacock blue, and magenta. Stamped ALPACA MEXICO on the reverse, it fastens securely with a pin stem and revolving safety catch.
