Made in Mexico circa 1970, this mid-century round brooch centers a polished abalone shell panel displaying deep violet, electric blue, and magenta iridescence. A scalloped silver-tone border filled with black enamel inlay dots frames the central stone, giving the piece a graphic, vintage look. Stamped ALPACA MEXICO on the reverse, it fastens with a pin stem and revolving safety catch.

Condition: Very good vintage condition, showing light surface tarnish and age-appropriate patina on the metal casing. The pin stem has a slight kink but functions smoothly and holds securely in the clasp. The abalone shell remains in very good condition, intact, and full of luster.
